Join us at our 90-minute suicideTALK on August 13th from 3:00-4:30PM
Hosted by: Alicia’s Salon & Day Spa

Our primary focus is to improve knowledge surrounding depression and mental illness in the hopes of positive intervention with persons at risk of suicide.

suicideTALK invites all participants—regardless of prior training or experience—to become more aware of suicide prevention opportunities in their community. Dealing openly with the stigma around suicide, this exploration focuses upon the question “Should we talk about suicide?” By looking at this question in a number of different ways, session members can discover some of the beliefs and ideas about suicide in their communities—and in themselves.

suicideTALK participants will learn…

  1. How suicide is a serious community health problem that is often misunderstood.
  2. How personal and community beliefs about suicide affect the stigma and public safety.
  3. How the steps taught in LivingWorks’ safeTALK program can be used to help prevent suicide.
  4. How to get involved in life protection, preservation, and promotion activities in the community.

Imagine… a suicide-safer community

“I don’t like being behind the camera too much but I wanted to post a photo of myself that I am proud of. I feel like everyone has a picture of themselves that they love that’s REAL and shows their true self, this is that photo for me. The last 6 months have been insane, I have cried more than I have ever cried in my life and been in more pain than I could ever have imagined… physically mentally emotionally.

Somehow GOD managed to pick me up into his arms, save my life when I was left for dead (literally) and carry me through to a place of peace. For those of you that don’t know my husband shot me in the chest missing my heart by 1/4” and then turned the gun on himself this past November. I almost died and definitely would have had my hundreds of prayers that night not been heard from above.

All thanks to GOD that I am here today and able to be here for my babies and also be able to still work behind the chair doing what I love. I am now a single mom of 2 beautiful kids (Kenzie 6 & Evan 2) and daily life is super hard. There is literally no break no quiet moment, no stillness but my kids keep me pushing forward to create stability for them and to create our NEW future. I’m all they have now and I don’t take that lightly. I don’t post much of my kids for privacy reasons but you’re able to get a glimpse into our life through my stories.

I just wanted to thank you to all of my clients & to those of you who “follow me” and my journey behind the chair, I hope my posts inspire you visually, emotionally & spiritually. God bless” ❤️✌
